Tear the Abyss is a genre-blending band fronted by Viscera, the band’s vocalist and central storyteller. The band explores love, hate, inner demons and emotional survival through heavy, atmospheric and cinematic music.

Born from a deeply personal narrative, Tear the Abyss is more than a conventional band. Through his voice, stage presence and artistic persona, Viscera gives physical and emotional form to a world shaped by darkness, vulnerability and strength.

The first official release, “What Kind of God”, has been recorded in Sweden at the legendary Studio Bohus and is produced by Swedish producers Niclas Engelin and Oscar Nilsson. Niclas Engelin, guitarist in The Halo Effect and former guitarist of In Flames, connects the band directly to the internationally respected Gothenburg metal scene and Sweden’s world-renowned rock and metal tradition.

“What Kind of God” is the first chapter in a larger release plan, with three additional songs to follow. Together, the songs will expand the emotional and narrative world of Tear the Abyss.

Tear the Abyss does not exist only to entertain. It exists to connect, provoke and stand beside those who feel lost, broken or alone — reminding them that even in the darkest places, they are not facing the abyss by themselves.
